Yuba Foothills Agricultural Communities Association/YFACA is dedicated to honoring our agricultural heritage, fostering community cohesion, and engaging in good works that enhance the quality of life for all residents in the Yuba Foothills.
Seniors on the Go is a community-based program sponsored by YFACA, serving older adults in the rural Yuba Foothills. The program centers around a monthly luncheon that provides shared meals, structured social time, and educational presentations focused on health, safety, and services available to seniors.
Each gathering includes a meal and an enrichment presentation led by local agencies, healthcare professionals, service providers, and community partners. Topics have included brain health, mobility and physical wellness, prescription access, emergency preparedness, and navigation of aging services.
In addition to the monthly luncheons, the program occasionally offers expanded opportunities such as driver safety courses and tax assistance in partnership with regional agencies.
Seniors on the Go reduces social isolation, strengthens community connection, and supports aging in place by improving access to information, services, and peer support for rural seniors.
